You can customize toolbar (https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/docs/Customize-toolbar) and add button for `CmdSendByEmail` command.
(or Ctrl + K Command Palette, type adv to narrow down and select Advanced Options... command) works only if sumatraPDF is in english (my installation is not).
[ Name = Send By Mail Cmd = CmdSendByEmail Key = Shift + M ToolbarText = ✉ ] has to be inserted. and notepad.exe from /System32 isn't a good way to edit SumatraPDF-settings.txt (WordPad from Windows 10 is ever WORSE, can't handle ✉ and instead of ✉ a question mark (?) will appear), notepad++ can handle the TXT-File better. i found the text file with everything by voidtools.
Can I upvote and reopen that? :) It would be *really* life saver! That is the main reason to switch to SumatraPDF - the ability to send on that (fast) way. The missing shortcut or/and button on the toolbar makes it much less productive...
No plans to add more stuff to the toolbar. With pre-release builds (https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/prerelease) , I recommend using Command Palette for quick access to most functionality (Ctrl - K, type "send", Enter for "Send With E-mail")
kjk: can sumatrapdf opens windows mail uwp?
abc: Not currently. I'm not sure if it's possible
kjkwindows mail and calender will be replaced by outlook from ms store (pile of crappy software)
apps from MS Store use MSIX and msix can't set up MAPI therefore mail apps from ms store like thunderbird (ms store) or outlook (new) for windows (ms store) can't be used for sending files from desktop or windows explorer because MAPI can't detect them but MAPI works great with thunderbird MSI or EXE from the official developers site therefore if i want to send a PDF-File with sumatraPDF, i have to install thunderbird or any mail program that supports MAPI for their official site or winget but not from ms store, only outside of ms store.
thank you for the v3.6 release and the possibility of sending mail by CmdSendByEmail-Command. it seems like it uses MAPI-Interface therefore i can't use it with e. g. Gmail in MS Edge or with Thunderbird from MS Store because "The MSIX installer does not set up MAPI." https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1902912#c8
